Relocation

Okay, so it has been about eights weeks since hurricane Katrina decimated my home and still no light at the end of the tunnel. One day we got power the next day we lost phone service. Four weeks later we get phone service but our power grid must be cut off for a "couple hours". Two days later we get power back.

The only hope we have left is to move. We've had several places to relocate to on our minds, we got buddies who live in a place called Jerome, AZ, an old ghost town, with a pop. Of about 500 residents. Seems a little small to me, but safe from hurricanes.

A couple we know live in Texas, but the Lone Star State has enough problems with the refugees it took in from New Orleans. I'd hate to think we were adding to the problem.

We do have some friends that have been trying to get us to move to South Florida, but shit, those guys get hurricanes all the time. Hurricane Wilma is expected to hit Florida this weekend and even though folks in Florida do know how to handle the big storms it is just to soon for us jump right back into Hurricane Mode.

So our options are open and our minds are set, we just need a destination. Maybe someplace cold, but not to cold I've already been though one blizzard and it was even less fun than a hurricane.

Oh, just FYI Wilma is just moving over Cuba and here in the Deep South people are getting ready for the storm even though the weather guessers say it won't get this far.
